your body is a poem

my love, it’s time.

it’s time to celebrate the home you exist in.

The home that has never left you.

No matter how many times you might have ignored what she needed or told her she’s not good enough.

she has always done her best to take care of you.

She’s been by your side for every ocean swim, every teardrop, every morning walk, every mouthful of food, every belly laugh.

for every single breath since your very first breath, she has been there.

Without you having to know how to do any of it, she grew you from a single-celled blob into a miraculous human body that can see your best friend’s face and make music and even create whole new humans!

your beautiful body. your perfect body.

it’s time. to thank her. to accept her. for real this time.

can i show you how to fall deeper in love with yourself?

I used to hate my body. Like a lot a lot.

A friend asked recently if I was still working to heal old wounding around my relationship with my body…As I thought about it, I could see just how much of my business and art and passion and purpose are built around the whole idea of reverence for all bodies. So much of the art I share is the culmination of many years of pain plus many more years of very intentional healing practices and incredibly hard won self-love.

I really believe that what each of us struggles with is directly related to what becomes our greatest gifts and our purpose. It first feels heavy in order to teach us to carry it so gracefully that heads turn. Others learn what it took you decades to learn just by watching how you live and embody the teaching you've been gifted through pain. I never would have been moved to make art and help people this way if I hadn't first carried the weight of hating my body for most of my life.

I’m telling you this because I want you to know why it’s so important to me to do this crazy naked stuff. And I want you to know that I get it if it’s kind of terrifying at first. When people tell me it’s brave (or crazy!) to go to nude beaches or do naked self portraits and share them with the world, what most don’t know is how far on the other end of the spectrum I lived for decades. So I really do get it. And I have to tell you. My friends. It’s so much more fun over on this end of things! I can’t even begin to tell you how good it feels to be free. Not just free running around without clothes on, but free from expectations about how I should look, free in my friendship with and deep care for myself. I really believe I can inspire freedom in you too. I really believe that I must try. That it’s the best way for me to honor the wild ride it took me to get here.

So here we are.

I’ve poured my heart into creating rituals that will help you remember what deep love, acceptance and friendship with your body feel like.

powerful embodied experiences > Regular Photoshoot

Your body is incredibly intelligent. Your body remembers everything that has happened in your life, whether your conscious mind remembers or not. Ever catch a certain smell and find yourself instantly transported back to a memory from your childhood? (90s era LipSmackers chapstick anyone?) Ever drive past a place you visited with someone you loved and feel your whole body respond? Or a song? (Don’t even get me going on Seth Avett’s cover of No One’s Gonna Love You.) I like to think of these as bookmarks. We all have bookmarks in beautiful memories, painful memories, and everything in between. We tend to make the majority of our day to day choices based on the subconscious reels of old experiences running in the background.

But here’s what I want to tell you. You have the power to create new experiences that your body will hold for the rest of your life. Your body won’t default to operating from the feeling of that time you were ten at the beach and felt so self-conscious you never even took your t-shirt off or went for a swim. Instead, your body will get an update on its operating system for ‘relationship with body’. It will default to this new feeling. The feeling of deep peace and love with golden sun and salty wind kissing your belly. Do you know how much you can do with a feeling like that? A single moment can change old beliefs that have been keeping you small for decades. A single empowering moment can change the choices you make by default every day. These subconscious choices add up to the quality and impact of the big beautiful life you deserve and that the world deserves from you.

So this is how our session will go. I’ll create a safe space for you to come out of hiding. To be exactly as you are with no judgment. I’ll guide you through a photoshoot experience that is much less about the images than the rituals and embodied memory that your body will bookmark as safety and love and freedom. You get to take that with you forever. Once you know how to feel something, your body can go back to that bookmark any time. You start creating more experiences like that because you’ve opened up the possibility of it. You create a life around these new feelings and beliefs about your worth and your power!

Here are some human bodies. Just as they are. Bodies with scars and rolls and hair and stretch marks. Bodies in love. Bodies in vulnerability. I hope they help you feel the rumble of your own freedom. Your own beauty. Your own wildness. Body and soul.
